I have institute this same exact recipe on virtually sites, but this i uses a larger pan than near. And for that reason this baby gets all 5 stars. It seems like that's a big pan for the amount of dough, simply trust me information technology's non. Information technology's perfect!! This recipe is delicious. Keep in heed it's non actually toffee, but instead it's like a toffee tasting, chewy, buttery cookie dough. I use toffee $.25 on the top but honestly I think you could put whatsoever nuts you like, too (betting almonds would be fabulous). Very like shooting fish in a barrel to make and a huge favorite with anybody at Thanksgiving. They are all-time (chewier) when they're non refrigerated.

I doubled the shortbread recipe and pressed information technology into a buttered parchment lined cookie sheet. Then topped it with a simple caramel sauce that would harden when cooled. While the caramel was still warm, I sprinkled the top with skillful quality chocolate fries and popped it dorsum into a warm, turned off oven for four minutes to soften the chocolate just not get information technology also warm. I spread the chocolate chips with an offset spreader, then pressed crushed pecan pieces into the height of the chocolate before cooling. Amazing! Chewy, cookie lesser but with yummy caramel, chocolate, and pecans. This is what toffee is!

I've been making these for 30+ years except I use 4-5 Hershey chocolate bars.. My mother used to make them when I was a kid. I believe it was Betty Crocker recipe. Anyway, you lot can employ any kind of nuts. I about always use walnuts, merely sometimes I switch it up with pecans and toffee pieces. And so drizzle a little salted caramel sauce on top!

I really enjoyed this recipe. I followed it exactly except that I used foil instead of greasing the dish- just thought information technology would be easier cleanup, and nothing seemed to change. The confined were succulent and very rich :) I used pecans on top. The just advice I might requite would exist to press the nuts into the chocolate- mine kinda vicious off some. Next fourth dimension I might add a layer of actual toffee so at that place'due south more toffee flavor here, only they were still really good confined!

I have made this recipe for years and it is a family favorite made co-ordinate to the recipe. At Christmas we double the recipe and use white chocolate morsels and chopped stale cranberries.

I couldn't notice my mother's one-time recipe so decided to give this one a try. Very disappointing, non a lot of flavor. Crust was very viscid and hard to press into pan. I call up more chocolate is needed and peradventure dark chocolate would have given it more flavor. I pressed my basics down as some reviewers indicated, but many nonetheless fell off. I think the nuts fell off considering there only isn't enough chocolate to hold them on. I would endeavour a dissimilar recipe, as it just doesn't have much for flavor.

This was an awesome, easy recipe. The only divergence I fabricated was I used Wilton'south melting chocolate (melted information technology in microwave and then spread it on) and so sprinkled a pocketbook of Heath pieces on top. Delicious.

I like putting the chocolate fries on the top and putting dorsum in the warm oven to allow them cook, and then spreading the melted chocolate over the bars. Sprinkle heath chips, toasted coconut, chopped almonds or chopped almonds (any your family's favorite).... delicious!

Dry, chaff was tasteless, and knew information technology before I put it in the oven. Not sure what the toffee office of this is. Certainly not the chaff.

This is a really good recipe! I knew the bars would stop up tasting proficient because the dough tastes delicious. The bars come out really buttery (flavour) with a very squeamish chew. At first I thought they were going to exist difficult, because information technology was difficult to go a knife through them, but they turned out to have a slap-up texture. I'll be making these once more for sure.

I was looking for more than of a candied toffee recipe and should've read the directions more carefully before I bought the ingredients. This is more than of a toffee flavored cookie bar. Still yummy! I used unsalted butter and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. The dough seemed besides dry at showtime, just was only correct once I spread it into the baking dish. The bars came out slightly flaky and chewy, and tasted even better the next twenty-four hour period!

I have been making these for years! My family unit and I love them. Truly the taste of toffee, but softer than that of the processed. Great Recipe. I like to use a lager pan for a thinner square, yous become a bit more than of a crunch to it. You lot will relish these.

Oh my goodness--these shortbread cookies are amazing. I have brought them to church building and school, and they always get scarfed downward in no fourth dimension. My change: Instead of manifestly chocolate, I mix milk chocolate and caramel chips. I permit them sit for 5 minutes, and so I gently swirl them across the top. Finally, I sprinkle the cookies with bounding main table salt and slivered almonds earlier cutting. I press the almonds gently into the melted topping to help them stick. A-bloody-mazing and absolutely addictive.

This is an easy recipe, even for beginners. I prefer a cookie canvass (lower sides makes it easy to work and accept out). Make sure to pierce with a fork to release steam and cut while still warm.

No real flavour other than the milk chocolate. I was extremely disappointed in these bars. They were super easy to brand, only not much in toffee flavor. Nil like the ones my mom made. I won't brand them again from this recipe. No one seems to similar them in my house.

Out of this globe and super easy to make. Will teach my granddaughters. So very skillful. I substituted Heath pieces on top and used dark, milk and white chocolate fries. Out of all the toffee recipes this is TERIFFIC!

Bang-up classic recipe! Feel complimentary to employ semi sugariness chocolate chips and use more than recipe calls for. Aforementioned goes for the nuts. I added more than until there was more nut coverage on peak. I also used the dorsum of the fork to tap nuts into the chocolate topping. Yum!

I also added almost three/iv cup of dark brown sugar, gives information technology a slap-up maple taste. Love these and will definitely exist making more!!
